Steven Rucker perished in the Line of Duty October 29, 2003 while battling the Cedar Fire in San Deigo County. Since 2004 the Steven Rucker Memorial Golf Tournament has raised over $250,000. These funds have been used by the Novato Fire Foundation to support the Fire Squirts camp for kids, the Steven Rucker Scholarships, the Automated Defibrillator program, and other Foundation sponsored events.
