Chris Cooper (SNR) Elected to MCERA Retirement Board

The Marin County Employees Retirement Association (MCERA) announced yesterday that Chris Cooper (San Rafael Fire Department) has won the election for Safety Representative. There was a very high voter turnout.  355 safety members voted in this election.  The votes of Marin Professiornal Firefighters' members carried Chris to a narrow victory.  Without our members' participation, this victory would not have been possible.

Chris Cooper received 184 votes while his opponent received 171.  We have 252 firefighters from NOV, SNR, SOM and MRN that are members of MCERA. 

Thank you to all of our members that voted.  Chris needed every vote cast by his fellow Firefighters.

 It is extremely important that the interests of our members be strongly represented on this important board to protect their rights and health in retirement.   Chris brings a wealth of understanding of firefighter health and safety and retirement issues, and will serve to represent the interests of firefighters and all public employee members of MCERA.
