Thank You From President Briare: 2014 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

Dear IAFF Local 1775 members,

I want to thank all of our members and Fire Chiefs for your support and participation in the 4th annual Marin Professional Firefighters, 2014 October Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Working with the IAFF in conjunction with the Susan G. Komen organization is a great opportunity to serve the public and provide Breast Cancer Awareness during October.

It was great to see many of you in your Pink T-shirts on duty and for a few San Rafael Firefighters in the newspaper. You should know that many of our local politicians that we work with wore their L-1775 Pink t-shirts, which many of them earned as participants in the L-1775 Fire Ops program.

I want to recognize all of the Shop Stewards and especially the 2014 Chair – Jeff Endaya (SNR); Assistants – Jason Hatfield (SNR) and Randall Ainsworth (SNR). Not only did Jeff order and deliver pink T-shirts to all eleven Fire Associations, but he launched a trial fund raiser for October Breast Cancer Awareness in San Rafael called “Scoop night”. On Saturday San Rafael

Firefighters scooped ice cream at Siberman’s and Double Rainbow. This added to the overall success of our 2014 program.

We are always looking to enhance/ improve our October Breast Cancer Awareness program. If you have any suggestions for 2015 please send them to me at president@iaff1775.org

Fraternally,

Bob Briare, President
