Scholarship Opportunity for Marin Firefighters and Public Safety Officers

The Marin County Public Safety Officer’s Association is an organization made up of active full-time employees of any fire agency, police agency or Sheriff’s Office in the County of Marin. As part of its mission, it is seeking to award financial scholarships to the children or grand children of its members who are high school seniors headed for college or trade school. The successful award winners will need to have demonstrated a high degree of commitment to his or her community, to personal honesty and integrity, to learning, and to living life to the fullest. Financial need is not a requirement.

AWARDS: Five (5) $2,000.00 scholarships

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Scholarships are open to any student in the 12th grade at any public or private school in or outside of Marin County.
  • The scholarship must be used for the purpose of furthering the education of the applicant in a four year college or university, a two year college, or a trade school.
  • The applicant’s parent, legal guardian, or grandparent must be an active full-time employee with any Marin County fire agency, police agency, or the Sheriff’s Office.
  • The awards are made solely on the basis of merit, without regard to ethnic background, sex, religion, or financial need.

HOW TO APPLY:

  • Fill out the application form, completing all questions as concisely as possible.
  • Enclose a transcript of all high school credits to date.
  • Have the qualifying parent, guardian, or grandparent sign the application on the line provided.
  • Sign and date the completed application on the line provided.
  • Send the application to:
