L1775 Supports Firefighter Elected to NBLC

On February 25th, Wednesday night, the North Bay Labor Council (NBLC) held election for Executive Board Member (5 openings).  The election was held at the Plumbers Hall in Santa Rosa. The NBLC membership is represented by Operating engineers, Labor, Electrical workers, sheet metal, Grocery clerks, Firefighters etc...  Marin Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1775 are members by means of our affiliation of the IAFF and AFL-CIO.

The Marin Professional Firefighters delegates attending the election night meeting were President Bob Briare, Jeff Allen (Retired SOM), Mark Burbank (MRN); newly sworn in representatives, Treasurer Jason Hatfield (SNR)SNR and Mike Tribolet (Shop Steward, MRN).

We showed up in force to cast our votes for NBLC Executive Board Member candidate Tim Aboudara, President of Santa Rosa Firefighters, IAFF L-1401.

After brief personal introduction of those union members in attendance, NBLC President Jack Buckhorn introduced Former State Assemblyman NBLC President Emeritus Michael Allen, serving as the parliamentarian for the election. Voting instructions were given and then the union members went to the ballot box to cast their votes.

Election result: Tim Aboudara is one of the newly elected Executive Board Members (at Large). Tim will serve a two year term on the 18 member Board, which has local jurisdiction in labor issues in Sonoma, Marin and Lake Counties.

Tim and other newly elected board members hope to strengthen the local labor council politically and through organizing and fighting for working people in the Northbay.
