In Memory: Tony Bacon

Local 1775 was sad to learn of the passing of longtime member, retired Fire Captain and Battalion Chief Tony Bacon of Novato Fire Protection District last week.  A moment of silence was observed in his honor at the Executive Board meeting, and our members express condolences to Tony's family.  Memorial service information is below.

A memorial service for Captain Bacon has been announced by the fire department that he has been working for in Montana.  The service is scheduled for June 28th, 1100, in Troy, Montana.   All are welcome to attend.  The local department has requested a RSVP from anyone planning on attending.

If you plan on attending, please email retired NFD Captain Bob Ruzick at bruzick@verizon.netno later than June 20th.  Bob has been a point of contact with NFD retirees to the memorial service organizers.  Class A uniforms are approved and requested.

We are also considering planning a local gathering in Tony’s remembrance in the next couple of months for anyone who cannot attend the memorial service in Montana.
