Fallen Firefighters to Be Honored Saturday

This autumn, the California Fire Foundation will continue a proud tradition of honoring California firefighters that have given their lives in the line of duty.

The 12th Annual California Firefighters Memorial Ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the California Firefighters Memorial in Capital Park, on the grounds of the California State Capitol in Sacramento.  Many local 1775 members and leaders will be in attendance.

Fifteen names will be added to the Memorial Wall, joining more than 1,200 California firefighters who have paid the ultimate price since California became a state in 1850.

The annual ceremony provides an opportunity for firefighters, families and the public to pay their respects to the men and women on public safety's front lines.
