Update From Linda Brown on Pre-Designating Physicians

Dear Local 1775 Member,

Enclosed please find the list of doctors we recommend to take on the predesignation aspect of the workers' compensation system.

This means, as in the past, the member will have to make an appointment with the doctor's office. They will have to take with them the predesignation form, fill it out, have the doctor sign and agree, and then present the form to the employer. They should provide a copy of the fully executed document to the association and their family.

They need to make sure that they have proof that the employer received this form.

It should be noted that Kaiser members may or may not have problems with the predesignation right.

Each of these doctors has been contacted personally by me. Each of these doctors has indicated their willingness to work with me and your members.

Because this has been a difficult situation for all, please allow the professionals time to gradually make the transition.

For members who are currently off work or were actively treating for an injury, they should call us directly and we will try to provide specialized doctors that are willing to see them.

We also have learned from Dr. Stevenson's office that Dr. Goodwin has taken over his practice. We believe that Dr. Goodwin is willing to begin participating in the workers' compensation system. We do not know him yet, but hope to speak to him in the near future.
