As California and the world wrestle with the COVID-19 outbreak, the California Fire Foundationand NextEra Energy Resources are stepping forward to help communities severely impacted by the pandemic. Through a generous $50,000 donation from NextEra Energy Resources, the California Fire Foundation today announced direct grants to groups providing nutritional and economic support in hard-hit regions of the state, including Fresno, Kern County and the Inland Empire.
“As front-line medical responders, California’s firefighters see the health effects and the human devastation of the COVID-19 epidemic up close,” said Brian K. Rice, chair of the California Fire Foundation and president of California Professional Firefighters. “Our foundation has supported communities heavily impacted by disasters, and thanks to the support from NextEra, we are proud to continue that commitment in this crisis.”
